 Pronunciation tips!  There are lots of opportunities to practise your speaking and listening.  Check the BBC World Service Learning English site.  Go to del.icio.us and type in pronunciation ESL.  Check out some of those sites.  You can go to del.icio.us again, and type in the tag getskilledacc and see what I have put in there for you to read.

   "Listening is an art and there are very few fixed rules." What do you think of this statement?  Can you remember from last week's exercise what it was like to be listened to and to have your partner re-tell your story?

Communication Skills Challenge One:  Listening more carefully and more responsively  -  acknowledging the feelings and wants that people express in word and mood.  Actively acknowledging another person's experience does not have to mean that you agree or approve. Compassionately allow people to feel whatever they feel.  People are much more likely to listen if they have been listened to with actively expressed acknowledgments.
